so sieht es aus

Eva. I have here a schematic portrait I've made of what it looks like inside Bruno. To whom all those swell nice people have progressively shut doors and portals, in that fine manner of theirs. Now we're in America. I used to think that in America everything would get better, that we would finally reach our goal. No! Bruno is being slaughtered as if he wasn't there no more! Today you wouldn't recognise him. -- Bruno nobody kicks you here no more -- No. Not in that way. Not in a visible way but in a spiritual way. -- why.. -- Yes! In the homes it looked just like this.. When someone wet the bed, and this was during the Nazi period.. to save space on the drying line to hang clothes, the one who had done it had to stand like this in the courtyard holding the sheet, and behind him was the educator with a stave. And watch out if his arms started to go tired and the sheet would touch the ground... OK now I'll sit down again.. Yes, so -- Did you have to do that too? -- yes.. but that was all visible. But today of course things look different. They no longer do it like this! Or like this! One does it in that fine manner, and this fine way is much much worse... and who knows what else is in store for us.. -- I didn't understand what you said -- we're no longer in Germany, we have to be careful here -- Bruno don't be so upset -- upset? Upset, should I not be upset? When people are despised, when they are grown up, and when they long for love, and they are forbidden to enter the bedroom.. he's no longer allowed to sleep next to you, he has to sleep in a single bedroom like someone in a cage. -- Bruno listen, I also need to be alone -- right. And this is what it looks like when a man suffers pain and fear, and these are the spiritual pains and this is what they look like. And if you think that you can make it on your own here in America, you're damned. -- Bruno you must understand, it's only that I too need to be alone, I need my room for myself. I've never had a room for myself alone, I just need it. And look, if you sleep in the next room we're still in the same house. I doesn't mean that we're separated and we're together all day anyways. -- Well, I don't know to proceed in this any more. In that case I've really reached the end.
